A new app called Discover Card Application lets you pay for groceries using the magnetic stripe on your debit card.
The app uses the magnetic strip of your debit and credit cards to charge you at grocery stores.
It uses the strip to scan a QR code to activate a shopping cart at the checkout, then the magnetic bar at the front of the checkout to process your payment.
Discover says that it uses the technology to be more convenient than other payment methods, but it’s a good way to pay with the magnetic stripes on your card.
You can pay for a gallon of milk with the stripe, for example.
It’s unclear whether the Discover Card App will be accepted in India, or if it will be limited to those that have a credit card, but the app was launched in India a couple of weeks ago.
