There is no need to bring your completed application to the office to be processed.
You’ll need to call a representative from the Texas Department of State Health Services to complete the online application.
You will be contacted within 24 hours of completing the application.
When you complete the application online, you will receive a confirmation e-card.
You may also use your debit card or paypal to make a cash deposit to pay for your application online.
You must provide proof of your Social Security number, employment history, or income.
The application will be processed within one business day of receipt.
Your completed application is nonrefundable and nonrefungable for 12 months.
However, if you’re not able to complete your application within 12 months of receiving it, you’ll be charged for any unused balance.
If you have a disability and need help finding a job, you can request a hardship waiver for up to $1,000.
You have to pay your application fee to get the waiver.
You also have to notify the Texas Dept. of State’s Labor Services division in writing that you’re requesting the waiver within 60 days of receiving your application, and that you’ll not be able to resume employment for 90 days after that.
If the application is denied, you may not receive a hardship request.
If a request for a hardship is denied because of a disability, the applicant will be required to pay a $100 nonreferred application fee.
If your application is accepted, you receive a letter from the department indicating that your application has been approved.
If an application is not approved, you still need to pay the application fee if you apply for unemployment.
If, at the time of submitting your application for assistance, you have been unemployed for at least 90 days, you must pay the fee and have your application processed within 60 months of the date you were unemployed.
This includes the 120 days prior to the date of your application being processed.
Once you receive your payment, you cannot apply for assistance again until your application was approved.
